Rebecca is now offering weekend workshops in hat making in Geelong, Victoria, AUSTRALIA.
With a maximum of five students in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere the workshops focus on blocking, trimming and flower making.
The courses are aimed at beginners and intermediate budding Milliners who want to learn the basics of hat making and develop their skills in the tricks of the Millinery trade.

The following courses are currently being offered for 2012:
Hand Tooled Silk Flowers – Rose and Lily
Learn to make stunning handmade silk Roses and Lilies using traditional French flower making tools. Topics to be covered
include creating your own patterns, tooling and colouring techniques. Finish two flowers.
Workshop Date:
Saturday 28th January 2012 10am – 5pm
Cost: $145
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided – participants to supply their own lunch.
Participants are required to bring their own dupion silk fabric for the flowers and a basic sewing kit. All other materials will be supplied on the day.
Trimming Techniques
If you have ever wondered how Rebecca makes some of the trimmings on her designs, then this is the workshop for you. In this class you will be taught a variety of trimming techniques that Rebecca uses in her
current Millinery designs. Topics to be covered include Ribbon Cockades, Leather flower swirls, wired felt swirls, Beaded flower petals and a host of other techniques.

Saturday 31st March 2012 10am – 5pm
Cost: $185 - materials are included in this cost.
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided – participants to supply their own lunch.
Participants are required to bring their own basic sewing kit.
Button Hat – 2 Day weekend Workshop
If you would like to make a stunning small hat in time for the races, then this workshop will be perfect for you. Learn to make a button style hat with your choice of trimming.
Topics to be covered include blocking, stiffening and wiring, sewing in a petersham ribbon, trimming and finishing your hat.

Sunday 6th May 2012 10am – 4pm
Cost: $290
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided – participants to supply their own lunch.
Participants are required to bring their own parisisal straw cone and a basic sewing kit.
Some materials for trimming the hat will be available for purchase on the day.
Refund and cancellation policy
- Cancellations up to one month from the commencement of the course are subject to a $30 cancellation fee.
- Cancellations less than one month before the start of a course will be subject to cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of the course.
- Students who are unable to attend a course or part thereof, due to illness, personal or professional commitments, are not entitled to
refunds or transfers.
